“A Complete Lie” - 'Hasnat Khan' Princess Diana's Ex-lover Blast New Movie Based on their Romance

Princess Diana’s former lover Hasnat Khan has slammed the new movie based on their romance as “a complete lie”.

Dr Khan, 54, broke his silence days before the release of Diana, starring Naomi Watts and Naveen Andrews, based on Kate Snell’s 2001 book Diana: Her Last Love.

The heart surgeon denied producer’s claims he gave it “tacit acceptance” and said: “It is a complete lie. I have never given any approval.”

He added: “It is based on gossip and Diana’s friends talking about a relationship that they didn’t know much about, and some of my relatives who didn’t know much either.”

The movie charts Diana’s romance with Dr Khan which ended shortly before her death alongside Dodi Fayed in a Paris car crash in 1997.

It will premiere in London’s West End on September 5.

Dr Khan, who the princess nicknamed Mr Wonderful, has seen online still pictures from the film. He said: “I could tell immediately those were never our mannerisms, with [my] hands folded behind the back and all that.

You could tell from that picture that it is all just presumed about how we would behave with each other, and they have got it wrong.

There wasn’t any hierarchy in our relationship. She wasn’t a princess and I wasn’t a doctor.”

He revealed they talked of moving to Pakistan but he could not handle the media intrusion.

Dr Khan, now divorced and who is a cardiothoracic surgeon at Basildon University Hospital, Essex, added: “There are a hundred could-have-beens.”
