Kanye West to Enter MTV Record Books With 7th VMAs Performance

On the heels of announcing Lady Gaga as a performer for the MTV Video Music Awards, the network revealed Monday that Kanye West will also hit the stage on Aug. 25 to perform "Black Skinhead."

This will mark the seventh time West has graced the VMAs stage tying Madonna's record for most performances since the awards show launched in 1984.

MTV made the announcement from the Brooklyn Bridge, fittingly, as it's nearby VMAs venue Barclays Center. MTV unveiled the news on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Vine.
