Niger State Government Making Life Easy Through Road Provision

Niger State Government stated this while speaking through the Commissioner for Works,  Alhaji Muazu Bawa, at a media parley held in his office at Minna, stating that the state government had compiled a report on the state of these roads which the governor, Dr Muazu Babangida Aliyu, would present to President Goodluck Jonathan.

According to him, among some of the roads in bad shapes were  the Jebba-Mokwa –Bokani, the Rijau Niger State border through Zuru in Kebbi State, the Katcha–Baro, Agaie –Katcha and the Rofia-Swete-Segbema road. Others included the Wawa-Kaima, Auna-New Bussa Sarkin pawa-Kaduna section, and the Pandogari–Gurmana-Allawa and the Mokwa to Makera-Tegina roads.

Muazu Bawa also said the bad condition of the roads had continued to have negative impact on the economic lives of the people, even as they have accounted for the loss of lives and property of innocent travelers as a result of daily accidents on the roads.

Dr Aliyu-led administration at its inception in the government in 2008, approached the capital market and obtained the sum of N15 billion bond in two tranches of N6 billion and N9 billion, for the construction and rehabilitation of some of the deplorable roads in the 25 local governments areas of the state.
