Nigerian Army Names General Shehu Abdulkadir & Two Others as Commanders

The Nigerian Army has named Major General David Eniete, Major General Obida Ethan and Major General Shehu Abdulkadir as commanders in postings released on Thursday the 22nd of August at the Nigerian Army Headquarters.


While Eniete is moving from Defence Headquarters as Director Transformation to take over from Major General Henry Ayoola at the Special Task Force (STF) Operation Safe Haven,  in Jos, Major General Ethan is to resume in Maiduguri as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the newly established Division, named 7 Division; and Major General Abdulkadir is to take over from Major General Babagana Monguno as the Commander, Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Minna, Niger state.

Eniete, who is a core infantry officer, was a sector commander, while on a United Nations Mission in Darfur. He was promoted Major General in 2012.  He is a member of Regular Combatant Course 26.

Abdulkadir is a core military police officer from Niger state served as Chief of Standard and Evaluation (CASE) Army Headquarters, before he was deployed to Mali as Commander, AFISMA. He is a member of Regular Combatant Course 21.

Also moved are Major General T.I. Dibi and Major General PJ Isang, who are expected to resume as the new Commander, Army Headquarters Garrison, in Abuja, and Chief of Training and Operations, Defence Headquarters respectively.
