Student Commits Suicide Over Inability to Pay School Fees

Friday Samson, a 400-level student of Taraba State University, committed suicide in Jalingo after a family disagreement police confirmed to Nigeria Bulletin on Wednesday.


The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr Joseph Kwaji, who confirmed the incident, said the police were still investigating the matter.

He said Samson, a student of Mathematics, allegedly died after taking a substance.

Kwaji said a suicide note was found in the pocket of the deceased in which he alleged that his sister had refused to pay his school registration fees.

According to the note, the PPRO said, Samson, 32, took the poison to express his grievances over the alleged refusal to pay the school fees.
