Outbreak of Diarrhoea in Niger State, 12 Confirmed Dead

12 people have been confirmed dead following the outbreak of diarrhoea in Gada village in Mashegu local government area of Niger State.

It was gathered that the villagers witnessed the outbreak after the breakdown of the borehole in the village that forced them to rely on the stream in the village for drinking water.

The director of Public Health Services, in the state , Dr Usman Mohammed who confirmed the incidence said the situation is now under control and the number of the affected persons had reduced.

He said some medical personnel have been deployed to the village to give free medical treatment.
