2015 Elections: Politicians to Spend over N20 billion on Advertising
Estimates on what political parties would spend on advertising alone emerged recently at a press briefing of the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN).
Dr. Celey Okogwu, the chairman of the Publicity Committee of the association made the disclosures while speaking about advertising expenditure for 2013. The briefing was tagged: Advertising and the economy, with sub-heads, AAAN contribution to the national economy, and how the conference will affect the advertising industry in Nigeria, as well as the Association’s nomination to the forthcoming National discourse.
Amongst many other things, Okogwu said that over N20 billion will be spent on political campaigns in a run off to the 2015 general elections, a figure which he noted may, however not pass through the organised private sector
