Niger State Government to Commence Registration of Sellers and Buyers of Industrial or Cooking Gas
The Chief Servant and Governor of Niger State, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu says the state government is to commence the registration of sellers and buyers of industrial and or domestic, cooking gas in the state.
Speaking when he received the Head of the College of Bishops in Africa, Arch. Bishop John Micah at his residence in Minna, Governor Aliyu said the measure was part of the proactive security arrangement in the state to avert insurgency and wanton destruction of property.
He noted that some terrorists use gas cylinders to launch attack on innocent citizens, hence the need for government to take proactive decision to protect lives and property.
The Governor further stated that the identity of persons wishing to buy cooking or industrial gas cylinders must be taken so as not to cause panic to the people.
Governor Aliyu urged Arch. Bishop John Micah and his delegation to pray for the return of peace and stability in some parts of the country and advised Nigerians to unite and support government’s effort to end insurgency and other security challenges in the country.
Earlier, Arch. Bishop John Micah said they were in the state for the International Conference of Ministers and commended the governor for his effort towards sustaining peace among all religious faithful in the country.
