According to Daily Times, the TLM operation Manager, Mr Pius Ogbu Sunday disclosed this in Minna at One Day orientation Workshop on Leprosy Stigma and Discrimination for media Practitioners in Niger State.

He said out of 3,805 leprosy cases recorded in Nigeria annually, Niger state has 172 cases and the number of children affected annually rose to 332 which he attributed to government failure to fund leprosy centres.
