Blessing Okagbare to Race in Nigeria

Blessing Okagbare will join over four hundred athletes from the three senatorial districts of Delta State at the newly constructed Sapele Stadium for the inaugural Dr. Awoture Eleyae Athletics Championship.

Nigeria's fastest male athlete, Ogho-Ogene Egwero, is also expected to participate in the event, which also aims to discover young talent from Delta State and expose them to top competition.

Okagbare is expected to compete for Sapele in Delta Central, while Egwero will lead athletes from Isoko North in Delta South Senatorial District.

chairman of the local organising committee, Gabral Okpunor, also sees the event as a great opportunity to showcase the new Sapele Stadium. The event will be shown live on television, but he also implored Nigerians to come to the stadium and show their support.
