Nigeria Knocks Iran Out of the FIFA U-17
Iran failed to reach of the quarterfinals of the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup as Nigeria beat them 4-1 in Al Ain’s Sheikh Khalifa International Stadium on Tuesday.
Samuel Okon gave team Nigeria a lead in the 23rd minute. Kelechi Iheanacho found the back of the net two minutes later. With three minutes remaining in the first half, Musa Muhammed was on target.
The Iranian outfit tried to pull a goal back in the second half but conceded one more goal. Musa Yahaya scored Nigeria’s fourth goal in the 76th minute.
Ali Gholizadeh scored a consolation a goal for Iran in the 84th minute.
Nigeria will face Uruguay in the quarterfinals on November 2 at the Sharjah Stadium.
