Nigerian Arrested in India with 400gm of Drugs

A 32-year-old Nigerian man was arrested in Delhi carrying 400gm of MDMA, a party drug, concealed in a golf kit box with also 10gm of cocaine powder found in his possession.

Samuel Okeke had come to handover the consignment to Prince, also a Nigerian national to be further sent to Malaysia.

During interrogation Samuel told police that he came to India in April 2012 and started the business of exporting ready made garments to his native country.

He was not earning much through the business and was looking for other opportunities when he came in contact with another Nigerian identified as Prince in a party in Delhi who lured him into the drug racket, police said.

Okeke was arrested on Tuesday evening near the Kashmere Gate ISBT flyover. "We are interrogating Okeke, to find out other details about the trade," said Commissioner of Police Ravindra Yadav.

MDMA is used for treating trauma and stress disorders, but is popular among addicts and used in rave parties. It acts as stimulant and comes in a crystalline or powder form.
