World's First Self-Driving Car By Google [Video]

People will be able to buy a self-driving car no earlier than 2020, Nissan executives have said and Google's self driving car has already logged approximately 500,000 miles on California roads.

Google announced their self-driving car project in 2010 to make driving safer, more enjoyable, and more efficient. Having safely completed over 500,000 miles of computer-led driving, they wanted to share one of our favorite moments.

Here's Steve Mahan, who joined Google for a special drive on a carefully programmed route to experience being behind the wheel in a whole new way. Watch test drive below:

The tech giants organised this test as a technical experiment and think it's also a promising look at what autonomous technology may one day deliver if rigorous technology and safety standards can be met.
