Colorado Becomes First State in United States to Legalise Marijuana
The world was watching as Colorado unveiled the modern world’s first fully legal marijuana industry and no unregulated production of the drug.
Although Uruguay has fully legalised Marijuana too, it hasn’t yet set up its system.
According to Boston.com, Colorado had 24 shops open Wednesday, most of them in Denver with long lines of marijuana shoppers testing the nation’s first legal recreational pot shop
Though marijuana is still illegal under federal law, the Justice Department weighed in with an eight-point memo requiring Colorado to keep pot out of the hands of minors and criminal cartels, off government property and keeping the drug within the state’s borders
Signs also went up at Denver International Airport warning fliers they can’t take the drug home in their suitcases.
