Kevin Durant Scores Career-High 54 Points
Almost exactly a year after setting his previous career high, Kevin Durant had his best game ever on Friday.
The 6-foot-9 forward scored 54 points in the Oklahoma City Thunder’s 127-121 win over the Golden State Warriors, and did it with ridiculous efficiency.
According to ESPN, Durant had 11 points during one two-minute stretch in the fourth quarter, powering the Thunder to a 17-point lead. With the crowd of 18,203 chanting, "MVP! MVP!" he made two foul shots with 2:45 remaining to establish a new career-best scoring total.
It was the first 50-plus point game in the NBA this season and was ironically the most points since opponent Stephen Curry, 54 points against the New York Knicks last season.
