Thief Steals Bag From Train, Finds TWO-week-old Baby Inside
An Indian street vendor who stole a bag from a train was stunned to open it up and find a smiling 2-week-old baby boy inside.
Kishor Kale, 20, claims he was hoping the abandoned holdall he pinched Monday while on board the Chhatrapati Shivaji to Belapur train in Mumbai contained cash.
But when he unzipped the bag on the station platform he was shocked to find a tiny baby's hand reaching out to him.
Kale allegedly tried to dump the infant and flee. But a station ticket collector spotted him and he was detained.
Kale, who had been selling nail polish to women on board the train, was initially accused of abandoning his own baby, according to Mid-day.com.
Arrested, he tried to clear up the confusion by confessing to his crime.
Police are now investigating and tracing surveillance footage to see who left the bag on the train in the first place.
The baby was taken to Mumbai's Bhabha Hospital where he was given a clean bill of health. He was then sent, temporarily, to a children's home.
