FG Approves ₦1.6 Billion For Super Eagles World Cup Campaign
The National Sports Commission Chairman, Bolaji Abdullahi has confirmed that the Federal Government has approved the sum of ₦1.6bn for Nigeria’s 2014 World Cup campaign.
He explained that the money, which differs from the Nigeria Football Federation's budgetary allocation as contained in the 2014 national budget was approved as a ‘special grant’ for the World Cup.
He further said that the fund approved by the FG will take care of the Super Eagles' welfare from their training programs, to every build-up games as well as cover their participation at the World Cup.
The Super Eagles have chosen United States of America as their base camp for the Mundial.
Abdullahi told The Punch that the government was giving the country’s participation in the World Cup the highest level of attention necessary,to make the Eagles excel.
