NIWA Donates Life Jackets to Two Riverine Communities in Niger State

The Managing Director of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Hajiya  Inna  Maryam Ciroma in a bid to address the challenge of frequent boat mishaps in some riverine communities in the country has donated some life jackets to two communities in Niger State.

Beneficiaries of the life jackets are Nupeko and Malale two riverine communities which are prone to frequent boat mishaps in Niger State.

Ciroma who made the donation when she led the management team of the authority on a safety and awareness visits to the two communities promised to sustain the enlightenment campaign of waterways users.

The NIWA boss emphasized the need to adhere to safety rules and regulations at all times while using the waterways in the country.
