Japanese Government Donates ₦5b Water Drilling Equipment to Niger, 4 Other States
The Japanese government has under her Grant-In-Aid for Rural Water Supply and Sanitation support for developing nations donated water drilling equipment worth close to ₦5 billion to five pilot states; Niger, Taraba, Enugu, Ondo and Kebbi states, Daily Times reports.
The donation for safe water support programme in some states is part of the federal governments’ 2008 adopted strategy to foster improved partnership and closer collaboration with prominent donor agencies like the, Japan International Corporation Agency (JICA).
Minister of Water Resources, Mrs. Sarah Reng Ochekpe disclosed this yesterday during the symbolic Commissioning and Handing over ceremony for the FGN/JICA assisted Rural Water Supply Programmes in; Niger, Taraba, Kebbi, Ondo and Enugu states which took place in Minna, the capital of Niger State
