Niger State Speaker 'Adamu Usman' Donates Clinic to Dokomba Community
The Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Adamu Usman, has donated a primary health clinic structure estimated at N6.1 million to the people of Dokomba community in Mokwa council of the state.
During the commissioning of the clinic, Adamu Usman, said the project was part of his Community Social Responsibility aimed at alleviating the health challenges of the rural dwellers. The project, which is the third in the series of his intervention efforts in the health sector, Usman said, would go a long way towards solving the numerous challenges bedeviling the people of the area.
Usman in a press statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Usman Muhammad Chiji, said he had constructed and renovated a number of projects such as mosques, schools, and provided transportation to his constituents under his community social service.
The interventions in various sectors of the economy, the Speakers said, is to have direct connection with Dokomba people so that at the end of his tenure as an elected representative he would have something to show in reciprocation of the mandate given him by the community.
While calling on all elected and appointed public officers holders to identify and inaugurate a project in their various constituencies as a way of leaving behind a legacy for the people to see, the Speaker however called on the people of the area to utilise the facilities. Also against speculations of his re-contesting the Speakership, Adamu Usman used the occasion to reaffirm his resolve not to contest any elective office during the 2015 general elections, pledging however to support any candidate of their choice.
The decision not to contest any elective position in 2015, Usman said, is to promote peace and unity among indigenes of Mokwa in Mokwa Local Government Area and also to allow the younger generation with new ideas to take centre stage by participating actively in politics.
