NBA Star Paul George Suffers Horrific Injury [VIDEO]

Injuries are considered a normal part of professional sports, but at Friday's Team USA basketball scrimmage in Las Vegas, one of the NBA's top stars suffered one of the league's most horrific injuries in recent memory.

While attempting to block a shot by fellow Team USA player, Houston Rockets guard James Harden, Indiana Pacers forward Paul George landed awkwardly during the play, and literally snapped his leg in half against the basket stanchion.

Immediately after the compound fracture, George appeared to be in pain, but mostly calm. Meanwhile, his fellow teammates could be seen wincing, and looking away with pained expressions.

ESPN reported the the NBA star had his leg immobilized in an air cast, and was taken to a nearby hospital where, after successful repair surgery, a pin was reportedly inserted into his leg.

Organizers canceled the game immediately following the incident. Soon after, well wishes for George began to pour in from fellow players via Twitter. The hashtags #PaulGeorge and #PrayForPaulGeorge were still trending on Twitter as of Sunday morning.
