Niger East Senatorial Bye-Election Holds Today
The Niger East senatorial bye-election to replace Late Sen. Dahiru Awaisu Kuta who died following a protracted illness is taking place today Saturday the 30th of August 2014.
Two major contenders in the election are Dr. Shem Zagbayi of PDP and Barrister David Umaru of APC.
While the PDP has both state and federal support for Dr. Zagbayi, a large number of prominent and well known APC chieftains, including governors, are all in Niger State right now to give their support and backing to David Umaru the APC candidate.
Leadership weekend reports that findings revealed Barr Umaru as most favoured by the public to come out victorious.
The results are expected be out tonight or tomorrow morning.
