Copa Lagos 2013: Nigeria Win Lebanon in Penalty Shootout

Day two of the on going Copa Lagos 2013 beach soccer tournament was filled with fun and excitement as Nigeria’s Super Sand Eagles continued their impressive run with a 10-9 win on penalties over last year runners-up, Lebanon.

Head coach of the Nigerian team, Audu Adamu was happy with the outcome of the match against the Lebanese. He expressed his joy for beating Lebanon the second time.

“We are happy to overcome Lebanon again. Last year they were our toughest opponents, it was very tough playing them again, but we have shown that we can match any team in the world. We are now looking forward to retaining the trophy on Sunday and make Nigerians proud once again,” he said.

Meanwhile Senegal played earlier in the day defeating Germany 5-2 in a tense and thrilling contest. Both teams had yesterday lost their opening matches to Nigeria and Lebanon respectively.

Nigeria will take on Senegal, while Germany battle it out with Lebanon in Sunday’s matches.
