Environmental Activists Prank Shell at “Science Slam” in Berlin [Video]
Environmental activists hijacked Shell's 'Greenwashing' event in Berlin, playing a long awaited prank in order to demand cleaner business practices in Nigeria and other business locations the multi-national is currently involved.
The organisation called Peng! Collective, had come to the Science Slam organised by the oil giants disguised as scientists participating at the event, pretending to have a machine that would reduce carbon dioxide but later revealed themselves to be pranksters with the goal to expose Shell for the evil spills committed and destruction of national resources in Nigeria in particular.
Peng! Collective. released the statement in their video saying, "They [Shell] consciously create socio-ecological damage and show no real commitment to changing this...It is about time this company started taking responsibility for its actions."
"They work hard to make it look like they care about the impact of their endless quest for oil, distracting the public with showy PR events like the Science Slam. This is called ‘Greenwashing’. It is the opposite of responsibility. Taking actual responsibility would be Shell cleaning up the mess and taking action to prevent further damage." Watch video below:
These activists may not have the money Shell has. They may only have a 300 euro budget for what should be a 3 million dollar campaign, but they have a passion and they will not stand by and watch while companies like Shell continue to do what they want, at the expense of our environment.
