"Do Not Tweet About our Locations, Equipment, Weapons and Ammunition" - General Minimah

Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Kenneth Minimah, while addressing soldiers of the 149 Battalion, Ojo Cantonment, said that a trend that is dangerous to the service is the misuse of the social media.

General Minimah, who said this at the end of his tour on army formations in Lagos urged all army personnel to be careful of the social media.

"Some of you like to use Facebook, Twitter, and others to report the Army as if you are not a member. What you do not know is that you are undoing a system that you are part of. You can tweet on social issues. Do not tweet about our locations, equipment, weapons and ammunition. What has that got to do with you; I hope you did not come in, to undo the system.” he said

The Chief of Army Staff also disclosed that officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army will soon be kitted with new sets of uniforms to differentiate them from impostors.

He said the new uniforms which are currently being sewn at the Nigerian Army Tailoring Department in Yaba,  will make officers and soldiers appear smarter.
